Nehemiah Assignment

Tuesday's - Friday's 11 am to 12:00 pm

The Nehemiah Assignment is a prayer initiative focused on the well-being of our city.   We believe we are not just called to gather, but to govern.  This happens first in prayer as we get the Lord's heart, mind, and counsel to rule and reign with Christ.
Why the Nehemiah Assignment?  This story has insight for us today.  Nehemiah was grieved with the state of his people in his homeland.  The temple had been built but the city wasn't safe, and the walls and gates were burned with fire.
He fasted and prayed and was granted favor and provision from the king.   He called families to build the wall. They worked together to accomplish the task.  The Lord quickened the work, and it caused the Nations to revere God because of the accomplishment and timing of this seemingly impossible task.  In closing, usury in the land was dealt with and the people were able to prosper once again.
As they began the rebuilding, the enemy tried to intimidate Nehemiah and distract him from his work.  In the same response we can say, why should I stop this great work and answer your call?  We answer to God's call only and finish the task.  We believe that our King has heard our cry and is giving the call to go and restore and we go with the provision of the King for the mission at hand.
The goal is to see families strengthen like walls that fortify a city and to cover the gates (business) of our city in prayer.  Not begging God, but through revelation, dreams, and visions we steward what God's giving us and pray from that place.
This ministry is vital to the success of our mission.  Our city will prosper because we do our part and partner with the Lord of heaven and earth.   Do you have a heart for prayer and want to grow as an intercessor?  Join us and let's become the prayers we prayed.

414 Moment:   A prayer from Lou Engle

September 1st, 2023, Lou Engle came to Heartland Church in Ankeny, IA.   On this impactful night he called Iowa to champion her call.  IIOWA; Iowa intercessors over white house affairs.  Iowa you anoint Kings.  Lou talked about the field of dreams and spoke two key passages Nehemiah 4:14 and Esther 4:14.

That evening when going to our Airbnb the Lord shut that door and we had to go get a hotel late in that evening.  That had never happened before, perplexed we grabbed our bags and headed closer to Heartland Church, finding a hotel in Ankeny.   We arrived and the only room they had left was room 414 with a king size bed.

For context, when Lou speaks, and the room is electric with faith.   That evening was charged with destiny, and I was attuned to see the small moments of breadcrumbs along the way.  Greater understanding would come later.

The room 414 felt so significant to me that it gave me the courage to share with Lou the next day.  I asked him to lay hands on my head as I had seen the day before when I had lacked courage.  I asked him to pray for The Landing, the ministry we were launching in March.   I later realized that this prayer came on … September 2… which was 22 years to the day of my dad passing away at age 42.  At that time there had been a series of 22s as timelines and signs to me from the Lord, so it was very significant to me.  May you be encouraged and aware of time & purpose as you read.

Lou Engle's prayer:
I am laying hands on you like you saw.  I thank you for one that is discovering, searching out the scroll of her own journey.  I thank you Lord that you will meet her in her pursuit.  I ask; give her revelation how to build this landing, this prophetic Elijah company, that could stand the great test of culture.  That you would lay your hand upon her as this Esther with this 414 room.  That this family would fight for her family, their family, and you would extend their influence to families way beyond there circle of their own sphere at this point.  I bless her with prophetic courage and vision to go forward in Jesus name.

Nehemiah 4:14 “And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, don't be afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”

Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Let us not miss our moment and let us remember the Lord who is great and awesome.  Fear not for we shall finish the task at hand.
